Beyond Stupid: Democrats Throw Away Over 10,000 US Flags

Drudge Report is linking to a story that part of the trash generated by the Democrat National convention in Denver is over 12,000 unused American Flags, which were saved from being tossed out as garbage by a worker.

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin. - Denver Post
How sad that none of the Democrats thought of taking the flags to give away to delegates, or to all those people they got to fill Invesco Field to listen to Obama's speech or even take along to give away on the road. Even I would love to get a flag from the 'Great One'. Not only that but it really would have neutralized the whole Obama-flag pin issue.  At the very least a Democrat could have taken them and sold them on eBay. But I guess none of those Democrats have any sort of entrepreneurial spirit.

Instead the flags are going to be used at a McCain/Palin campaign event. Does that count as a campaign contribution?  Either way, thanks DNC! (And shame on you at the same time!) Guess lots of supports will be walking away with some nice new flags.

I'll take 17. Too bad I'm stuck in Virginia getting rained on.

UPDATE:
Seems that this is just the latest in an ongoing flag issue that REDSTATE has been following. See their posts: 'New Game: Where's the Flag' as they fail to find any US flags that the DNC might have put up for their convention. And then 'Mystery Solved' as they discover US Flags tossed in with regular convention garbage.

You're worried about some flags being thrown out by the DNC and how this is unpatriotic, how about the thousands of lives who have lost their lives in Iraq over a false justification for war. Our economy is failing, our armed forces are stretched too thin and you want to bicker over flags.

Eric,

This is a campaign for President of the United States. If they don't care for the symbols of this country, than what makes you think they will care about anything else, especially our soldiers?

Obama has dismissed guns, religion and our flag. How much more of America are you willing to let him toss away?

This is not a simple 'look what they threw away' issue, but an example of their ideology.

Oh, I'm so sure Obama said, "Just throw all those flags away!" Ever consider it was some volunteers or paid workers? Assuming this story is true that is...

Natasha,
This has nothing to do with Obama himself. I seriously doubt that buying the flags in the first place was his idea, and I'm not suggesting that he had anything to do with tossing them away either.

It was his campaign. And these are the same people who are going to help him run the country if he wins. And if he is going to surround himself with dumbasses, then it is worth noting. How is it that for a convention that was going to recycle everything, these things ended up in the trash instead of with other material that still had further use during the campaign. Its not like the flags had thousands of Obama signs keeping them company. No, they were throwing these away and no campaign workers or volunteers thought enough to say something....

Obama:
Look what those silly Republicans are clinging to now...

How does someone overlook 12,000 flags? I bet whoever did that is fired, especially after Obama has repeatedly used his presidental campaign to show is organizational experience. It looks really bad.

As a USAF veteran who has served in Iraq I say I could give a damn about some miniature flags, get my boys out of Iraq and fix this country's failing economy. There's your soldiers perspective.

"As a USAF veteran who has served in Iraq...."

Right, and I am a USN (O4) and Merchant marine veteran who spent time in the Persian Gulf so I am not sure what your point is. As I mentioned before, this is about ideology and I don't like theirs.

This story is untrue and blown out of proportion. You should stick to the facts, but I can see by the nature of your blog you don't. You should be wanting to know and spread the truth, but again, it is apparent you don't. Anybody who supports a senile old man and a brunette bimbo to represent and run this country has no brain. I am a woman who is also a republican seeking the truth who will NOT be voting for McPalin.

Fred Fry said...

If the story is not true, then where did the flags come from?

I suspect by your meaning of the truth, you mean the propaganda coming out of the One. You are the one who has been hypnotised by the message of 'Hope and Change'.

Hmmm. Truth seeker, eh:
"senile old man and a brunette bimbo"

You my dear, are not a Republican.

Who said they were them away - Maybe this is the way they arrived at the convention center. What a bunch of bologna!
Republican, Democrat - Get over it - The United States Of America Is in Deep Trouble, and doesn't need a bunch of "Flag-Waver's" trying to stir the pot.

Your suggesting that they were stacked against a dumpster when they were delivered to the stadium? Sorry but nice try. That's what receiving docks are for.
