Here is another area where President Obama and his Administration are having it both ways, and so far nobody has really called them on it.
In this case, the President has been hammering US Corporations for sending some work overseas, blaming this 'outsourcing' for lost American jobs. These Corporations have been vilified by the President specifically and Democrats in general.
This same President however fails to see that the end result is the same if they go and let these corporations go and hire illegal aliens to do the work. Sure the job is still here, but instead of sending the work overseas, they brought the foreign worker here to do the job. Illegal aliens are outsourced labor. Instead of sending the work to them, they came to the work.
At least when American Companies have work done in factories overseas, you can expect that each foreigner employed is one less person looking to come to America illegally. So if a company is outsourcing jobs to Mexico, each Mexican that takes one of those jobs is one less Mexican trying to get to the US. But when a Mexican in the US illegally takes a job in the US, the end result is the same, in that there is one less job available to an American. Not only that, but his 'success' is noted back at home, only encouraging more people to come illegally in search of work.
By letting Illegal Aliens work in the US, they are now competing for jobs that are very difficult if not impossible to send overseas. Think construction and landscaping as two of those industries where the work pretty much needs to be done here. Not to mention all the work done in the agriculture and food industry.
This is where frequent raids were effective, in that illegal aliens never knew when or where Government ICE Agents would strike next. But now, our President seems to have second thoughts about collecting illegal aliens and sending them back home.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has delayed a series of proposed immigration raids and other enforcement actions at U.S. workplaces in recent weeks, asking agents in her department to apply more scrutiny to the selection and investigation of targets as well as the timing of raids, federal officials said.
A senior department official said the delays signal a pending change in whom agents at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement choose to prosecute -- increasing the focus on businesses and executives instead of ordinary workers.
"ICE is now scrutinizing these cases more thoroughly to ensure that [targets] are being taken down when they should be taken down, and that the employer is being targeted and the surveillance and the investigation is being done how it should be done," said the official, discussing Napolitano's views about sensitive law enforcement matters on the condition of anonymity.
"There will be a change in policy, but in the interim, you've got to scrutinize the cases coming up," the senior DHS official said, noting Napolitano's expectations as a former federal prosecutor and state attorney general. - Washington Post
This makes no sense. When a factory is raided, it is only the Illegal Aliens and Company management that have anything to fear. And in some of those cases it was management that actively assisted the Government properly document those who do not have the right to work in the US and were even told to let them continue work until they could be collected in a raid. what is the point in now targeting them? (Other than to stop them from telling the Government that they discovered Illegals working at their company)
Corporations that outsource work overseas have been made out to be evil despite economic studies reporting that these corporations ultimately result in more money and work being returned to the US in the long run. Oddly enough, the new Government is completely unwilling to recognize that Illegal aliens taking jobs inside the US is just as 'evil' if not worse since those taking the work are breaking the law because they have no right to work in the US.
Democrats has defended the taking of jobs by illegal aliens by claiming that illegal aliens are only taking jobs that Americans are not willing to do. I have pointed out in the past that there is no such thing as a job that Americans are unwilling to do (and the show DIRTY JOBS provides proof of that weekly). Recent news of a janitor job receiving 700+ applications is more such proof that Americans can be pretty flexible when it comes to taking most any job (That job by the way was in Ohio which is basically the wrong place to be if your looking for work. Which touches on another point, people out of work need to consider moving to where the jobs are.) Anyway, if there is such a thing as jobs Americans are not willing to do, then it is possible that the jobs being exported by American companies are those jobs that Americans are unwilling to do. If Democrats want to use that excuse in defense of Illegal Aliens taking jobs inside the US, then corporations can equally use that excuse to ship jobs out of the country...

Also last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus made similar calls as the caucus met formally with Obama for the first time.
"Raids that break up families in that way, just kick in the door in the middle of the night, taking [a] father, a parent away, that's just not the American way. It must stop," Pelosi added at a Capitol Hill conference on border issues sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. -

This is just utter B.S. First, I would think that the only cases where ICE is busting into houses in the middle of the night is in cases involving Illegal Alien criminals and in those cases the same happens to American families and rightfully so. And not for anything, there is nothing keeping the rest of a family of a detained Illegal Alien from being deported all together. The 'tearing the family apart' problem is only an issue because the rest of the family stays in the US hoping for a quick return of their deported family member. So perhaps the entire families of those captured in work raids should be rounded up as well. This way, by sending the entire family home, it is one less reason for those deported to try and come back. and by capturing one member of the household, they have captured a resource permitting them to capture the other members as well.
