Entitlement Update: What Happened To The Democrat Party?

Back in May I asked "What Happened To The Democrat Party?"

Well now I have to ask again, What Happened To The Democrat Party? Because I can't see how you can get from this:

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. - President John F. Kennedy

To this:

I never thought this day would ever happen. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage... If I help [Obama], he's gonna help me. (Found everywhere but refound at The Jawa Report)

She is sooo excited. You would have thought that she just won the lottery. No matter, she probably never heard of President Kennedy's directive. And the way things are looking on the Democrat side (Outside of a couple blue-dogs and PUMAs) neither does anyone else on that side of the political spectrum. And that is a shame. The Democrats really need to get back to that 'golden age' of their party. Sure they are doing well at the moment with promising all sorts of free goodies to the poor, but I am pretty sure that bubble is going to pop on Tuesday night when Obama loses his quest for the White House. As it is, he is partly to blame for this entitlement culture in his party.

Here is a part of Senator Obama's Democrat Party acceptance speech:

For over two decades, he’s subscribed to that old, discredited Republican philosophy — give more and more to those with the most and hope that prosperity trickles down to everyone else. In Washington, they call this the Ownership Society, but what it really means is you’re on your own. Out of work? Tough luck. No health care? The market will fix it. Born into poverty? Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps — even if you don’t have boots. You’re on your own.

Well, it’s time for them to own their failure. It’s time for us to change America. - From Obama's acceptance Speech, posted at Politico

Of course he is exaggerating the Republican position in terms of aid to the needy. Hell, Obama would like you to think that the Democrats alone are responsible for Government assistance to the poor. Not for anything but I thought that Unemployment, welfare, food stamps, public housing, public assistance, and all the other 'aid' being handed out was so that these people down on their luck can afford 'boots' so that they can eventually pull themselves up by their bootstraps!

Still, I have to ask, what the hell has happened to the Democrat party. Looking over time, how is it that the number of people who have needed assistance has grown during their leadership. Sure they will point out the last eight years under Bush as the problem, but not for anything, Bush got many more of these people into houses than Democrats ever did. (And this is an argument that Democrats can't win, because wither way, this case pins the mortgage mess on them.)

How is it that all of these poor people are concentrated in Democrat-dominated parts of the country? Do we really want to see the local Government policies that sustain the slums in Chicago, the high crime rate in Washington, DC, the high AIDS infection rate among blacks, the high drop out rate for their children. The high unemployment. All related in one way or another to a belief that they are not responsible for anything. Just like this lady in the video.

This has got to stop. As I point out here, there are plenty of good-paying entry-level jobs that the poor are refusing to take. Why should they with the Democrats promising them ever more and more, including the ridiculous 'refund' on taxes they never paid.
VOTE MCPALIN!

This is what is going to happen all over the world. The socialist illuminati are going to make us lose things we worked hard for in order to help those on welfare maintain.
