For two elections now the Democrats have been warning that voting for a Republican will result in a return in the draft. However, the joke is on all the Obama supporters as he and his Democrat allies plan to bring the draft back anyway, or indentured service, depending on how you want to look at it.

Good luck in getting all those people collecting unemployment/welfare in the inner cities to line up for this. Look at how some of his campaign 'volunteers' nearly rioted because the Obama campaign didn't pay them off as quickly as they expected. And these were 'volunteers' no less!
Not for anything but unloading a huge/cheap workforce onto the US is going to do little to reduce unemployment let alone raise wages. All sorts of paying jobs could be eliminated to instead be done by these 'volunteers'. Anyway, their first concern should be getting the unemployed to work, as I pointed out recently here and here, that there is lots of work out there, the unemployed just need to be guided to them. This program is certain to become an instant mess, especially if they try to punish people for refusing to participate...
Blog Sweetness & Light points out that requiring mandatory community service is illegal.
While they are at it, they should also tell this Constitutional scholar that the Constitution now forbids involuntary servitude:

That's alright, President-elect Obama probably only intends to require the white citizens to perform mandatory service. (Because he will never be able to force the Black-Americans to do anything. Sorry, but that is the reputation that they earned...) Me, I'll volunteer. Send me to Harlem so that I can teach about managing a household budget and saving money.

Read my response in the comments to the tax issue. As for the plan, just where the hell is it? This is the page from the Change.Gove website which simply notes: "NEED CONTENT"
The phrase "a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year." is actually quoted from the Barack Obama for President website. Sorry, but the campaign promises mean nothing until they become official policy on a Government site. As for the plan, it appears to be missing from there as well. The devil is in the details of course and at the moment there are very few, other than a plan for forced service....

The key word here is mandatory. I can see voluntary but mandatory? That's the part I object to the most. It sounds Marxist.

This opens even more questions as you currently need to pay $4,000 in taxes to make full use of a $4,000 tax credit. When are you supposed to do that when going to school, working and doing 'Service'? Will those doing military service be exempted from this additional service? Guess not since it starts in middle school...

Obama and the left wing illuminati are really into Mandatory. What about his Mandatory plan for every Parent to carry health insurance for their children. Gee, I wonder who is going to end up paying for that? The state? The government? He reminds me of a dictator! Pretty soon it will feel like we're living in Cuba.
So we're truly going back to big government, thanks to the left-wing illuminati. What happened to those volunteering their service? Maybe if the lefties didn't shoot down funding the troops, more soldiers would enlist.
